Mental Health For Students

Mental Health for Students

About The Infographic

As soon as I determined my intended audience for my research project it was clear that a visual representation such as a research poster/infographic was the most appropriate to represent the data I came across. As a university student I can relate to struggling and losing focus when it comes to reading large amounts of text in a piece of academic writing. Therefore, I decided the best way to capture and hold the attention of my audience would be to create an eye catching infographic that generalized the most important findings regarding this topic. I wanted to make this type of information available to students because being in university comes with its own set of stressful challenges that can negatively impact one’s mental health. Often therapies and help surrounding mental well-being can be difficult to acquire as it is expensive and hard to fit into busy academic schedules. This is why this version of mental illness prevention would be advantageous for university students as it is inexpensive, highly versatile, and extremely beneficial.

My name is Carly Bright and I am a third year psychology major at UBCO. I have always been interested in the mental health field along with its immense research in bettering one’s self. That is why I believe that advocating for healthy mental and physical well-being will not only allow students to expand and develop their skills in a stable manner, but a strong well-being also facilitates students’ ability to reach their fullest potential within academic communities.
